We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary
This role will support the Dominion Energy Virginia (DEV) Generation Rider Finance & Business Services team in achieving short-term and long-term business strategies. This role specifically supports the projects under a partnership structure. Responsible for performing the complex set of activities associated with analyzing, summarizing and reporting financial results. Coordinates the development of the budget, and financial earnings and cash flow forecasts for DEV consolidated view as well as at the partnership level. Provides analysis and presentation data to support monthly and long-term planning variance explanations. Interacts with multiple business units to reconcile earnings and cash flow variances, and to prepare Generation Rider regulatory filings.
Note: There is one position which will be filled at either the Senior Financial Analysis Specialist or Senior Financial Analyst level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, with preference towards specialist level.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain and improve the logic within an Excel based long-term partnership financial model, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and incorporate within the Company’s financial planning system, Anaplan.
- Perform strategic analysis on earnings and cash flow impacts of capital expenditures, operating activities, regulatory outcomes, and tax & accounting treatments for forecast and budget.
- Analyze operating cash flows with an emphasis on regulatory assets and liabilities with an in-depth understanding of drivers, timing, and implications across the financial statements.
- Support financial reporting, case management processes and strategic initiatives related to State regulatory proceedings for Dominion Energy Virginia and Dominion Energy North Carolina, primarily related to Rate Adjustment Clauses or Riders and construction of new assets, including subsequent regulatory inquiries, proceedings, and filings.
- Establish timelines and coordinate all relevant data submittals needed to prepare DEV Generation Rider filings and long-term plan updates while providing support for monthly forecast earnings and cash flow updates.
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses and prepare and deliver presentations to leadership that summarize the complex impacts across the three financial statements.
- Identify and troubleshoot needed system enhancement and process improvement related to the partnership financial model, long-term plan updates, and monthly forecast processes.
- Assists in training and personal development of co-workers.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Senior Financial Analyst Specialist: A minimum of 7-8 years of relevant financial experience is required (i.e.- knowledge of financial management and analysis; utility and/or relevant industry; accounting standards and practices).
Senior Financial Analyst: 5-7 years of directly related experience is required (i.e.- financial management and analysis/accounting standards and practices).
Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience towards the experience requirement. A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be rounded up to one year towards the qualifications.
Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:
- Extensive knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Financial modeling skills preferred
- Excellent leadership; organizational; interpersonal; verbal and written communication
- Teamwork, analytical and customer focus skills
- Strong analytical skills and a focus on attention to detail
- Demonstrate ability proceed under own initiative
- Ability to work with various levels across the organization, including senior management
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Demonstrated expertise in consolidated financial planning and analysis; capital allocation; understanding of accounting, tax, regulatory and financing principles
- Aptitude for continuous learning
- Experience with Power Query, SAP, BPC and Anaplan financial modeling tool preferred, but not required
Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor, Master
