Job Summary
This role will serve as a key liaison between Finance/Accounts Payable business partners and IT, ensuring stable operations, effective issue resolution, and continuous improvement of SAP Accounts Payable (AP) processes and related integrations.
The ideal candidate brings deep SAP AP functional expertise, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience supporting SOX regulated financial systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary functional support lead for SAP Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, vendor master data, payments, and reconciliation processes
- Partner closely with Accounts Payable, Finance, Treasury, and Audit stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into system solutions
- Provide production support, triage incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and coordinate resolutions with technical teams and SAP partners
- Lead requirements gathering, functional design, configuration reviews, testing, and deployment support for SAP AP enhancements and projects
- Support integrations between SAP AP and upstream/downstream systems (e.g., invoice intake, payment platforms, banking interfaces, procurement systems)
- Ensure systems and processes comply with SOX and internal control requirements, including documentation and audit support
- Develop and maintain functional specifications, business process flows, and training materials
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and improved controls within the AP landscape
Required Qualifications
5+ years of Business Systems Analyst or functional SAP experience, with significant focus on SAP Accounts Payable
- Experience supporting SOX regulated financial systems.
- Strong hands on knowledge of SAP AP processes, including:
Invoice verification
Payment runs and payment methods
Vendor master data - Experience supporting production SAP financial systems in a large, complex, or regulated environment
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into functional solutions
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
- Experience working with cross functional teams, vendors, and system integrators
- Business partnership and stakeholder management
- Detail oriented with strong documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Proactive, solution oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance
- Experience with third party AP tools or payment platforms (e.g., Taulia, Vertex)
- Prior involvement in SAP upgrades, migrations, or major financial system implementations
Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
Preffered disciplines: Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
