We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

This role is responsible for managing, planning, designing, recommending, and implementing auditing procedures and systems to be used throughout the organization. Manages a group of skilled audit professionals in delivering an independent, objective assurance and consulting service designed to add value and to improve the operations of Dominion and its subsidiaries. With minimal guidance and general direction from senior management, adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resources and operational challenges. Responsible for coordinating and managing internal audit assignments, scheduling and monitoring audit work flow, to effectively execute the annual audit plan. Ensures audits are designed to verify compliance with legal requirements and applicable policies and procedures. Prepares reports for senior management on the results of audits, providing recommendations for improvement. Communicates audit results to all levels of management.Responsible for management risk assessment processes and the preparation and presentation of annual audit plan reports. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resources and operational challenges. Researches and identifies new and emerging risks to Dominion operations and assesses risk coverage through comprehensive audit planning. Serves as an advisor to senior management on critical control issues. Ensures the timely and effective completion of the annual audit plan in a manner that is in accordance with company policies and procedures, and professional audit standards. Coordinates internal and external audit, regulatory, and other compliance reporting requirements. Maintain an effective audit staff by selecting, developing, and evaluating competent personnel.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

8-10+ years of in-depth and expert knowledge of accounting systems and internal controls.

Considerable (approximately 8-10 years) related work experience, with specific work experience in auditing and/or accounting for construction, regulation, Information Technology, and/or energy training strongly preferred.

  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Experience in Big 4 public accounting, or previous accounting/auditing experience for a large public company desirable.
  • In-depth, up-to-date knowledge of accounting pronouncements and auditing standards.
  • Knowledge and work experience in the evaluation of compliance with policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated project management, leadership, and supervisory skills.
  • Strong executive presence required, including strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
  • Extensive experience with data analysis and reporting.  Previous experience in working with SAP systems desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Disciplines: Accounting, Business, Finance

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Certified Public Accounting (CPA), Certified Internal Accounting (CIA), or other relevant professional certification strongly preferred.
