We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

This position will support the Customer Payment Services Research Team.

 

This role is responsible for assisting with analysis and making recommendations for changes to internal processes and/or standards/specifications to create more efficient and economical operations for Dominion Energy and Dominion Delivery business areas. Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Responsible for analyzing and research of customer-initiated issues across Gas and Electric and all payment channels. Ability to quickly resolve complex problems and adjust work plans with limited supervision. Payment Research identifies the root cause, resolves the issue, and explains it to the customer. Strong excel skills needed for work assignments which includes but not limited to cash reporting, exceptions reports and escalated complaints.  Utilizes SAP accounting and billing systems to review, analyze and route wires and checks for payment processing. Assist with projects to identify and document the major business processes associated with the business unit; and best practice analysis of the business unit's processes against industry and non-industry processes; identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes within the entire business unit without jeopardizing reliability, availability, or safety; develop business cases to support recommendations; and, monitor the progress associated with implementing of recommended changes. Apply process modeling tools, process improvement methodology, benchmarking, project management, and change management to projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

2-4 years of relevant experience in related field.

  • Experience utilizing accounting and billing systems.
  • Exeprience with data entry and financial data management. 
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making. 
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Self-starter and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong excel skills needed for daily cash reporting assignment.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new skill sets.
  • Must have basic knowledge of computers and strong Microsoft office 365 products. 
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience with financial reconciliation, preferred. 
  • Ability to plan, organize, and facilitate work sessions in a team environment.
  • Experience in application of business process improvement, methodology, benchmarking and change management.
  • Knowledge of Customer Payment applications/systems which could include SAP, preferred.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor 

Preferred Discipline(s):  Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance
