We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

Manages teams responsible for materials procurement. Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally. Develop and motivates teams to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short and long term goals. Lead major negotiations and drive supplier integration. Responsible for the coordination of daily activities of the team and formulation of strategies to complete the work as defined. Collaborates closely with stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure optimal customer service. Provides guidance to internal customer groups to ensure all procurement compliance requirements are met. Manages Employee development and guidance including providing regular feedback and performing appraisals. Participates in forming and executing strategies and best practices for assigned supply chain management responsibility.  Develops strategic direction, training, including measurement and tracking, along with tactical assignments to achieve department goals. Monitor and evaluate supply chain risks, including critical materials, suppliers, potential threats (cyber, enviornmental, safety, etc.). Recommends or establish mitigation strategies. Develops and provides training in supply chain management tools, including solicitation structures, risk reward analysis, cost-based negotiation skills, supplier management, inventory analysis, inventory investment, Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), and contract management. Train staff on supply chain policies and procedures, and monitor for compliance. Identifies areas for process improvement. Responsible for updating current policies and procedures. For procurement functions, reviews and analyzes proposals prepared by staff for TCO, impact of multiple alternatives, multiple complex family awards, make versus buy, lease rate factor, and tax impact. Leads or reviews analysis of internal and external spend streams. Develops or reviews sourcing plans, and coordinates execution of initiatives.  Maintains general understanding of global marketplace for suppliers' economic viability, financial strength, technical capability, management philosophy, and labor.  For materials management functions: manages inventory investment, and inventory planning. Provides direction, tools, and oversight for efficient and effective inventory analysis processes of materials and services requirements. Performs analysis around utilizing inventory forecasts, material usage patterns, vendor stocking patterns, and other data and methods to optimize the materials management function. Act as an advocate for innovation, automation, and standardization. May manage and optimize processes and systems supporting daily inventory management operations. Build people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication. Responsible for responding promptly to unforeseen situations after standard work hours as well as provide emergent 24/7 rotating coverage after-hours, weekends, and holidays to support customer needs. Clear understanding of nuclear safety-related parts requirements and regulations of 10CFR50 APPENDIX B & 10CFR21 APPLICABILITY associated with nuclear parts quality. Basic understanding of PAMS/Maximo and SAP material planning. Act as a Business Partner and SME during Nuclear Oversight audits. Review and approve Nuclear Corrective Actions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

7+ years of directly related experience in sourcing and/or material management.

  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing and/or materials management processes and methodologies.
  • Full knowledge of supply chain management policies, procedures, and accounting practices. 
  • In-depth knowledge of related company policies, procedures, and standards, typically gained from extensive related work experience.
  • Understanding of financial analysis tools and techniques.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Teaming and human relations skills.
  • Effective persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical, resource assessment, and management skills.
  • Decision making and issue resolution skills.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Disciplines: Business Administration, Supply Chain Engineering

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
