Job Summary
There is one position that will be filled at the Metering Solutions O&M Technician I or II level, commensurate with the successful candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and experience.
The first and second level in a developmental series, is responsible for providing field technical or engineering support in designated company areas or to specific engineering disciplines. Metering Solutions O&M Technician I is entry level and the second level is defined by the increased responsibility and ability to work independently in the application of technical or engineering skills and knowledge. The incumbent is capable of completing routine assignments and tasks with limited supervision and direction. Under the supervision of a supervisor or work leader, the successful candidate will support and troubleshoot communications of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) meters and Network equipment and support and troubleshoot Automated Meter Reading (AMR) technology and equipment. Additional responsibilities include providing contractor oversight and auditing throughout our service territory, conducting analysis, research and design to further develop professional knowledge and abilities, and to provide technical support in designated company areas or specialized functions. This may include analyzing and evaluating systems, equipment, process improvements, and programs for assurance that they are modified, operated, and maintained in accordance with Company policy, procedure, and regulatory requirements. This role will include technician work relating to modifying, operating or maintaining systems or equipment. This role requires sufficient experience to have developed expertise in the area. This position is primarily responsible for the Williamsburg service territory and most travel will occur within this Eastern Virginia region. Some additional day trips and overnight trips will be necessary for work or training. The successful candidate must be able to gain and maintain access to military bases and other governmental facilities. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

The knowledge, skills, abilities and education required for entry into this job include the following:
Metering Solutions O&M Technician I: 0-2 years related experience with preferred education level. Related experience includes, but is not limited to metering, radio frequency (RF), instrumentation, mechanical, and/or electrical technician experience. (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications).

Metering Solutions O&M Technician II: 3+ years related experience with preferred education level (see below). Related experience includes, but is not limited to metering, radio frequency (RF), instrumentation, mechanical, and/or electrical technician experience. (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications).
Knowledge and experience with radio frequency equipment and devices (RF) is highly preferred, but not required.
• Any electronic or mechanical vehicle installation or repair is a plus, but not required.
• Basic knowledge of operation, maintenance and technical design applications on
• Knowledge of the design and operation of moderate to complex systems and equipment.
• Analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic and mechanical equipment / systems.
• Knowledge of industry codes, government regulations and company policies and practices.
• Working knowledge in the operation and application of personal computers and software programs.
• Good oral and written communication skills to include basic technical writing skills.
• Ability to apply, with limited guidance, engineering theories and concepts to effectively address problems.
• Analytical and abstract thinking skills.
• Ability to problem solve and to quickly process information Ability to interpret industry codes, regulations and practices with general supervision.

• Successful candidates must be willing to work in the weather and outside elements.
• A valid driver's license is required. This position will requires that you operate a Dominion Energy vehicle or operate a vehicle on behalf of Dominion Energy.
• The successful candidate must be able to gain and maintain access to military bases and other government facilities.
Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
• Associate
