Senior Instructor (Engineering)

Job Summary

This role analyzes, develops, implements, and evaluates performance-based technical training programs. Maintains technical subject matter expertise and a thorough understanding of current business processes. Acts as subject matter expert in specific area of technical/engineering expertise. Consults with business partners to clarify and define work procedures and processes and develop and document new work procedures and processes. Keeps abreast of current regulatory initiatives and assess their impact on engineering training.

Develop instructional materials and conduct training for various engineering training programs at the Company's s nuclear power stations. An incumbent at this level should have in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory as well as expertise in the technical area for which he or she is providing training. This level works on the most complex training topics and is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating training in the classroom, laboratory, and on-the-job. This level also is responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory, and legal requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

 

Required: 12-13 years related experience in engineering, engineering training or nuclear power operations. 

Preferred: In depth knowledge of instructional theory and design and SAT.

Preferred: INPO instructor certification

Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, good personal computer, operate various instrumentation and controls, problem solving.

Compentence in using software applications critical to target audience. Excellent problem solving skills. Excellent time management skills. Good coaching skills. Ability to work well with minimal supervision. Ability to analyze job tasks and develop training materials. Ability to train and lead others. Ability to interface with regulatory personnel and industry peers.

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor , Other Education: Education
