Job Summary

Coordinate the maintenance activities of a nuclear generating facility to provide reliable, efficient and economical electric service to our customers, in a safe and responsible manner. Attend work control and outage meetings and coordinate completion of work as scheduled through work control process. Coordinate scheduled work per the online plant schedule and outage schedule with Radiation Protection, Operations, and other work groups as required. Responsible for evaluating risk for plant work and developing risk plans for their craft's work plans. Responsible for changing crews, moving people around, coordinating the work to be overseen by the 1st line supervisors, etc. by effectively using resources such as staffing, equipment and supplies to ensure optimum availability, productivity and safe operating performance. Assign priorities to work and develop work schedules in coordination with Outage and Planning and other station groups. Implement and monitor Maintenance work, training and vacation schedules as required to support station needs while maintaining work hour rule compliance. Review and coordinate daily and long range scheduled maintenance activities to support station operations. Coordinate and oversee maintenance job coverage and supervisor oversight as required to support on-line and outage maintenance activities, including oversight of vendors supporting station maintenance. Perform general supervisory administrative duties including, but not limited to, budget control and overtime call out lists. Interpret station and regulatory policies and procedures and make recommendations. Maintain compliance with established NRC guidance and industry best practices.

May fill in as Department Superintendent and first line supervisor leading crews in the absence of supervisors. May act as Maintenance Manager on call during nights, weekends and holidays.

Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO), responding to plant ERO activities in 30-60 minutes.

The role may have Non-Dominion Energy Workers (NDEWs) report to them.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

Must have 7+ years of maintenance experience, four years of which must be specific craft experience. Must have at least 3 years of experience as a first line supervisor or equivalent. Must have one year in nuclear power plant experience. Previous supervisor experience and completion of Mechanical Training Program as appropriate are preferred. Must exhibit leadership skills and work well with other departments to coordinate work and its completion. Experience using SAP or other maintenance management systems. Demonstrates good analytical and troubleshooting skills required to evaluate plant events, identify causal factors involved and develop actions required to correct deficiencies. Strong organizational skills, with proven ability to manage projects with multi-disciplined teams to resolve plant equipment issues. Demonstrated thorough understanding of maintenance fundamentals including job preparation, human performance tool use, job site behaviors, qualifications, training, craftsmanship and post job critiques. Must have good communication skills and follow through. Must have good understanding of risk assessment plan process. Must have a good understanding of the fatigue work rules process. Ability to resolve employee concerns in a competent, respectful, and responsive manner.  Ability to foster and create a Safety Conscious Work Environment supportive of positive, honest and open exchange of ideas and differing opinions.
