Job Summary

Direct multi (or single-craft) teams in the operation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of station equipment and facilities. Set and communicate performance standards and professionalism. Perform general leadership and administrative duties including, but not limited to, employee performance reviews, performance management, safety and training. Maintenance: Provide leadership in the implementation of policies, procedures, condition based assessments and work methods for electrical, mechanical, welding, IandC, and labor multi-craft maintenance teams. Operations: Lead production at a company generating facility to provide reliable, efficient and economical electric service to our customers, in a responsible manner. Provide leadership in the implementation of policies, procedures, the condition based maintenance program and work methods for CRO's and operators as well as multi-skilled maintenance and fuel teams when other leads are not available. Ensure the station operates within company, local, state and federal environmental policies, regulations, and procedures. Coordinate operations activities with other departments at the station. Fuels: Provide leadership in the receipt and unloading of coal. Ensure the proper equipment is available and maintained. Also, may provide leadership in the removal, handling, and storage of ash and oversee the administration and implementation of contracts supporting these activities. Also, provide leadership in the removal, handling and storage of scrubber by-product and limestone and oversee the administration and implementation of contracts supporting these activities. May also provide input into and partial oversight of construction projects supporting these areas.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

  • 5+ years of fossil power stations operations, typically gained through considerable related work experience.
  • 5+ years of Industrial Electrical Equipment experience.
  • Working knowledge of labor contract and employee relations policies.
  • Thorough understanding of company safety policies/programs, and environmental and regulatory policies/requirements.
  • Basic knowledge and applications of mathematics, chemistry, physics, and computer operations.
  • Basic knowledge of construction techniques.
  • Skills:  leadership; problem-solving; negotiating; effective communications.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
