Job Summary
The Dominion Energy’s Power Generation business unit seeks a Laborer to support Bath County Power Station.
The successful candidates will perform general housekeeping and maintenance duties inside and outside of the power station in all types of weather conditions.
This includes:
• General clean up by sweeping, scrubbing/waxing floors
• Removing trash various areas of the station
• Cleaning vehicles and equipment
• Will support outdoor duties such as lawn maintenance, vegetation control, road maintenance and snow removal
• Assignment to a fire or flood watch
• Supports station operations when needed and should be able to wear a respirator and work in confirmed spaces
• Other general tasks such as painting, running errands and other duties as assigned.
The normal work schedule is 10-hour shifts, Monday-Thursday, and individuals must have the ability to work planned and emergency overtime hours and call-out as needed to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
This is a union position with the IBEW Local 50. Pay starts at $19.81 and progresses to $26.14 at one year.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Minimum of 1 year working in an industrial or plant environment, construction, or other related experience. (A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications.)
- Valid Driver's license.
- High School diploma or GED.
Preferred:
- Heavy equipment operator experience such as bobcat, dump truck, tractor or forklift.
- Construction or physical labor experience such as landscaping, outdoor work, maintenance, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to assist all departments daily in areas of physical labor duties;
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to work occasional planned or emergency overtime if necessary.
