Job Summary
There can only be one incumbent in this title per Nuclear station. Supervise and administer daily activities of maintenance support group including maintenance coordinators, maintenance check techs, corrective actions and controls specialists. Oversee the preparation and submittal of the Maintenance department budget and monitor monthly performance. Interface with station management and other departments to assure effective control and reporting of construction and maintenance project costs, scheduling, and budgeting. Provide expertise in developing of station capital budget and five year forecast. Ensure closing out and maintenance of project authorizations. Assign and track various station commitments for resolutions and ensure corrective actions are performed, tracked, and trended. Assist planning in developing daily work schedules and outage schedules. Direct and provide guidance to Maintenance Supervisors in the proper execution of their responsibilities in accordance with station schedule and plant processes.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
-7+ years of nuclear power experience (with preferred Bachelor's degree) including 2 years in a leadership role preferred. In lieu of preferred related Bachelor's degree, may substitute related Associate's degree and 9+ years of directly related experience or High School diploma/GED and 11+ years of directly related experience that demonstrates knowledge of relevant fundamental theories, principles and concepts.
-Experience with and understanding of plant systems.
-Skill in business acumen including budget creation and controls
-Excellent written and verbal communications skills
-Safely and efficiently execute work
-Demonstrates high level of ownership for responsibilities, persists through adversity, and follow through with commitments.
-Maintains appropriate oversight of his/her personnel and acts promptly to provide direction when necessary.
-Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to provide clear work direction, develop work schedules and make decisions
-Skills in problem solving and problem resolution, being sufficiently intrusive to ensure all work items are produced with the highest quality including technical accuracy.
-Demonstrates a sincere respect for the need for attention to all matters affecting nuclear safety
-Working knowledge of corrective action, performance improvement and benchmarking programs
Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
Preferred Disciplines: Engineering, Engineering Technology
