We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy seeks a Nuclear Quality Specialist II or Nuclear Quality Specialist III to join the Nuclear Oversight team at the Dominion Energy Surry Power Station in Surry, VA.
The position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities:
 
Nuclear Quality Specialist II
Perform quality assurance audits, evaluations, and assessments of nuclear programs to verify compliance with regulatory requirements.  An incumbent at this level should have working knowledge of nuclear quality assurance codes and standards as they apply to engineering, plant systems and components, administrative controls and work process. 
 
Nuclear Quality Specialist III
Coordinate, direct and perform quality assurance audits, evaluations and assessments of nuclear programs to verify compliance with regulatory requirements.  An incumbent at this level should have full and comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance requirements and understanding of engineering concepts, plant systems and components, administrative controls and work control processes.
Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3 and above, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined are strongly encouraged to apply.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

Nuclear Quality Specialist II
Minimum of 2 years experience in nuclear power or quality assurance with a commensurate level of knowledge of nuclear/quality assurance processes and procedures is desirable. Good investigation and communication skills are required to perform audit activities. 
 
Nuclear Quality Specialist III
Minimum of 5 years nuclear quality assurance related experience such as nuclear plant design or operations with a commensurate level of knowledge of nuclear processes and procedures is desirable. Strong communication, investigation and leadership skills.
 Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

 Bachelor

Preferred Disciplines: Engineering, Math/Science, Technology

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above

 

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 Section 4.5.6, DOM-QA-1 Section 2.5.3, NQA-1-1994, Part 1, BR 2, & Supplement 2S-3 

Education requirements: 

High school diploma. 

Minimum experience for the position: 

Related experience which shall include 1 yrs. 

Special requirements: 

As specified in ANSI/ASME NQA-1-2008 and NQA-1a-2009 (2) as currently endorsed in Regulatory Guide 1.28 

(3). (Dominion will use NQA-1-1994 in lieu of NQA- 1-2008). 

REFER to ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014, Section 4.1, for guidance on alternatives to degree requirements, experience substitution for education, and alternatives to experience (not allowed for Special requirements) 

Note: Dominion Energy minimum requirements may exceed stated ANSI standards and candidates must meet the Dominion Energy minimum requirements.
