Job Summary

Powering the Future, One System at a Time

Dominion Energy is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Nuclear Process Computer Systems Specialist to join our team at the Surry Power Station. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining and enhancing the reliability, safety, and cybersecurity of our nuclear facilities’ plant computer system.

 

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our Nuclear IT team, you will:

  • Troubleshoot, test, maintain, and repair servers, workstations, data acquisition systems, and peripheral equipment associated with the Westinghouse Ovation PCS.
  • Provide hardware support for the Validyne data acquisition system.
  • Maintain and support the PCS data diode system.
  • Coordinate system changes, repairs, and maintenance with Engineering and Operations teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing, calibration, and maintenance activities.
  • Perform software maintenance, including database updates, system configuration, trending, and monitoring.
  • Conduct cybersecurity tasks such as rogue wireless network detection.
  • Review, implement, and test PCS changes resulting from design modifications.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

2+ years of experience in process control or process computer operations.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with complex electronic and computer systems.
  • Hands-on experience with power plant control systems or industrial computer systems.
  • Solid understanding of field instrumentation and electronics theory.
  • Proficiency in soldering/desoldering electronic components.
  • Strong PC skills and the ability to quickly process and solve technical problems.
  • Comfortable working on ladders (up to 8 ft) and lifting up to 30 lbs.

 

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Unix, Linux, and Solaris.
  • Background in electrical/electronic systems or nuclear instrumentation.
  • Experience in a nuclear or industrial environment is a plus.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Discipline(s):  Computer, Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering Tech, Computer Science, Computer Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Tech, Instrumentation Technology
