Job Summary

Provide services to nuclear generating stations in the area of Maintenance programs, projects and procedures. Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of these programs and projects to ensure equipment reliability. Provide technical support, direction and advice in analyzing, evaluating and resolving plant equipment deficiencies. Develop, implement and coordinate maintenance programs including, but not limited to, Preventative Maintenance Program, Foreign Material Exclusion, and Rework program. Develop and coordinate preventive maintenance programs for specific components. Perform periodic reviews of industry practices to ensure use of most current practices. Represent company on industry-related committees, i.e. Preventive Maintenance, Foreign Material, Lifting and Rigging. Utilize computer programs to analyze operating performance data to verify plant systems and components are operated and maintenanced as required by Company policies, procedures and regulatory agencies. Assist management with contractual staffing and budgetary requirements in support of station maintenance efforts. May fill in as first line supervisor leading crews in the absence of supervisors.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abiltiies and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

 

  • 5+ years of Maintenance experience that demonstrates working knowledge of maintenance processes, programs and procedures including Corrective Action, Foreign Material Control, Preventative Maintenance, Lifting and Rigging and the site work management system.
  • Must have one year of nuclear power plant experience.
  • (In lieu of preferred related Bachelor's degree, may substitute related Associate's degree and 7+ years of directly related experience or High School diploma/GED and 9+ years of directly related experience that demonstrates knowledge of relevant fundamental theories, principles and concepts.)
  • Prefer enrollment in Maintenance Supervisor Training Program in Nuclear and completion of Electrical, Mechanical, or I&C Training Program.
  • Must have good communications skills and follow through.
  • Must have good understanding of the risk assessment plan process.
  • Demonstrates good analytical and troubleshooting skills required to evaluate plant events, identify causal factors involved and develop actions required to correct deficiencies.
  • Strong organizational skills, with proven ability to manage projects with multi-disciplined teams to resolve plant equipment issues.
  • Additionally,  may include budgeting, scheduling, developing bid specifications and negotiating contracts.
  • Demonstrates considerable attention to detail by evaluating adverse conditions and providing accurate updates on Maintenance Department performance for management presentations.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of maintenance fundamentals, including job preparation, human performance tool use, job site behaviors, qualifications, training, craftsmanship and post job critiques.
  • Computer proficiency in Primavera (P6) and Plant Asset Management System (PAMS).

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor
