Supervisor-Gas Measurement

Job Summary
  • Supervises gas measurement functions.
  • Ensures timely and accurate collection of measurement and gas quality data, analysis of the measurement data, and proper reporting.
  • Oversees design, commissioning, and support of measurement and regulation facilities.
  • Ensures proper billing of customers and proper reporting of data.
  • Oversees verification and resolution of anomalies, approval of prior period adjustments, and review of measurement related reports.
  • Oversees volume estimates.
  • Resolves issues, and responds to customer requests and concerns for measurement and gas quality data.
  • Creates department forecast, and monitors expenditures.
  • Manages capital budgets for measurement projects.
  • Ensures compliance with all company, state, and federal policies, regulations, and procedures applicable to gas measurement.
  • Interprets new standards and determines impact.
  • Designs and implements programs, policies, and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Keeps abreast of the state-of-art in measurement technologies.
  • Seeks innovative solutions to increase safety and accuracy of measurement systems, while managing costs.
  • Manages training of measurement staff.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

  • Master's degree with at least 6 years' related experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years' related experience OR
  • Associate's degree with at least 9 years' related experience OR
  • High school diploma or GED with at least 11 years' related experience


Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of company operations, facilities, policies, procedures, and natural gas industry.
  • Knowledge of gas measurement systems.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations on gas measurement.
  • Planning and organizing skills.
  • Ability to interpret regulations.
  • Ability to develop and implement procedures and programs to maintain compliance.
  • Ability to interpret manuals and technical instructions.
  • Ability to manage comprehensive gas measurement information system.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to negotiate customer adjustment settlements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish rapport.



  • Prior leadership and/or supervisory experience is preferred
  • Prior Natural Gas measurement and regulation experience is preferred

Education Level:

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
