Job Summary

Petroleum Engineer II (Completions)-WEX
The Petroleum Engineer II will act as completions engineer within the geoscience and engineering department of Dominion Energy Wexpro. This role will be tasked with the following responsibilities with minimal supervision:
•    Support completions planning and AFE generation for capital projects in assigned development areas.
•    Study and communicate impacts of frac designs or operational practices on reservoir or production performance. Make recommendations to optimize costs or improve reservoir performance based on development goals.
•    Estimate, monitor and analyze the costs for completions activities and identify areas or improvement.
•    Work with technical staff to perform performance lookbacks and evaluate and recommend changes to improve results.
•    Collaborate with operations, and regulatory group on process changes or development projects that support completions activities.
•    Assist with creating new planning, data collection, or analysis workflows.
•    Responsible for internal and external state and federal approval reporting approval processes. 
•    Review, code, and approve invoices in OpenInvoice.
•    Follow reporting, environmental and safety requirements. 


Petroleum Engineer III (Completions)-WEX
The Petroleum Engineer III will act as completions engineer within the geoscience and engineering department of Dominion Energy Wexpro. This role will be tasked with the following responsibilities with minimal supervision:

•    Review, code, and approve invoices in OpenInvoice.
•    Manage contractor relationships and adherence reporting, environmental and safety requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Petroleum Engineer II (Completions)-WEX
•    Bachelor’s Degree
•    Requires a minimum of 3 years' experience in oil and gas engineering with experience in the design and execution of completions related operations.  
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
•    Experience using either FracPro, Gopher, MFrac or ResFrac to independently perform fracture modeling and production simulations.
•    Ability to design fracture stimulation based on reservoir classification, fluid types, completions techniques, etc.
•    Experience working with Microsoft Excel, relational databases, and data visualization tools such as Spotfire, Power BI, or Tableau.
•    Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment on multiple tasks simultaneously in a self-directed manor
•    Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
•    The ability to follow workflows and create plans for time sensitive work with governmental reporting requirements

Petroleum Engineer III (Completions)-WEX
•    Bachelor’s Degree
•    Requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in oil and gas engineering with experience in the design and execution of completions related operations.  
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
•    Experience using either FracPro, Gopher, MFrac or ResFrac to independently perform fracture modeling and production simulations.
•    Ability to design fracture stimulation based on reservoir classification, fluid types, completions techniques, etc.
•    Experience implementing and analyzing reservoir diagnostic techniques, DFIT, PTA, SRT, etc.
•    Experience working with Microsoft Excel, relational databases, and data visualization tools such as Spotfire, Power BI, or Tableau.
•    Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment on multiple tasks simultaneously in a self-directed manor
•    Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
•    The ability to self direct work flows and plans for time sensitive work with governmental reporting requirements

 

REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA: 
 
For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:  
Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or 
Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or 
Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET.

Bachelor

Preferred Discipline(s):  Petroleum, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Preferred: IADC Well Control Certified

Office Work Environment 76 -100%
Travel Up to 25%

Other Working Conditions

•    Work around load noise, mechanical components, and other hazardous conditions. 
•    Be on-call during completion operations to take phone calls and address any other needs that arise.
