Job Summary

 

 

Operations Training Specialist

Responsibilities:  - Develops, implements and coordinates training for Dominion Energy Construction Inspector and 3rd party contractors.  employees.  - Schedules and coordinates training needs for individual and departmental needs. - Develops and presents training and materials, including Power Point and video training.- Provides training to Construction Inspector and 3rd party contractor employees on policies, procedures and proper   use and  - Administers tests and provides feedback. Administers promotion tests. - Performs Operator Qualification training and testing.   - Provides training to outside organizations.  - Analyzes and determines training needs.  - Implements new technological changes for the Inspection departments.  - Performs skills evaluations for Construction Inspection employees. - Prepares reports as required.  - Schedules and coordinates replacement of continental and corroded risers. Includes creating lists for jobs that are scheduled to be replaced. Administers and coordinates training for Electronic Pressure Test Gauges. Both Internal and External employees. Schedule and coordinates 3rd party inspectors and data collectors hiring, weekly invoicing, time sheets, training.  Works with region leads on initial training and recurrent training.If required to drive, must have an acceptable driving record. May be required to obtain and maintain medical clearance to operate DOT-regulated vehicle depending on specific job duties. May be required to become DOT operator-qualified while working in the position.. Must wear the proper safety equipment as required by the job.   Will require irregular and/or additional hours to complete projects and carry out training assignments.  May be required to complete written and skills review examination as required for this position


Sr. Operations Training Specialist

To develop, implement and coordinate training for all levels of Dominion Energy Construction Inspector and 3rd party contractor employees to enable and improve knowledge and skills essential in serving natural gas customers. Responsibilities: - Develops, implements and coordinates training for Dominion Energy Construction Inspector and 3rd party contractor   employees on all operations tasks. - Schedules and coordinates field and classroom training needs for individual and   departmental needs. Develops and presents training and materials. , including Power Point and video training. - Provides field and classroom training to Construction Inspector employees on policies,   procedures and proper use and operation of all field equipment.  - Administers tests and provides feedback.  - Performs Operator Qualification training and testing.  - Provides one-on-one field training and field training in group settings. Performs skills evaluations for Construction Inspectoremployees.  - Prepares reports as required.  - Schedules and coordinates replacement of continental and corroded risers. Includes creating lists for jobs that are scheduled to be replaced. Administers and coordinates training for Electronic Pressure Test Gauges. Both Internal and External employees. Schedule and coordinates 3rd party inspectors and data collectors hiring, weekly invoicing, time sheets, training.  Works with region leads on initial training and recurrent training.   May be required to complete written and skills review examination as required for this position.

Operations Training Specialist

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
3-4 years operations training experience.
- Knowledge of city, county, state and federal codes, laws, company standard practices and safety procedures relating to gas installation and usage.
- Knowledge of construction procedures and techniques, safety policies and practices.
- Knowledge of company safety policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of gas appliance/equipment operations and repairs.
- Knowledge of electricity, gas controls and pipe fitting.
- Knowledge of basic math with decimals and fractions.
- Knowledge of personal computer and related software applications.
- Skill in the operation and maintenance of construction equipment such as welders, grinders, drills, tampers, pavement breakers and hand tools.
- Ability in the use of dispatching equipment such as radios, telephones and computer terminals.
- Ability to present information in an understandable way and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with customers and other employees
- Ability to read and interpret distribution maps.
- Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to see objects at close range and to determine the distance and relationship between objects.
- Ability to smell to detect burning materials, natural gas, hazardous substances such as ammonia and solvents and toxic substances found in hazardous wastes.
- Ability to handle emergencies and to respond to stressful situations.
- Ability to understand and complete written and oral instructions.
- Ability to complete reports in legible handwriting.

 

Sr. Operations Training Specialist

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
At least 5 years operations/inspection training experience. 
- Knowledge of city, county, state and federal codes, laws, company standard 
  practices and safety procedures relating to gas installation. 
- Knowledge of construction procedures and techniques, safety policies and 
  practices. 
- Knowledge of company safety policies and procedures. 
- Knowledge of company emergency response procedures. 
- Knowledge of basic math to perform operations with decimals and fractions. 
- Knowledge of personal computer and related software applications. 
- Skill in the operation and maintenance of GPS equipment such as Tablet, Antenna, Range Finder, Bar Code Scanner and Pipeline locator.- Ability in the use of radios, telephones and 
  computer terminals. 
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. 
- Ability to present information in an understandable way and ability to instruct 
  individuals and groups in a clear and understandable manner.
- Ability to read and interpret distribution maps. 
- Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds. 
- Ability to see objects at close range and to determine the distance and 
  relationship between objects. 
- Ability to smell and to detect burning materials, natural gas, hazardous

Education Requirements

Education Level: Required: High School Graduate , GED
