Job Summary

This position works in a plant environment monitoring and preforming maintenance on facility equipment. Located at the Energy Center, 7545 Chapel Hill Road, Cary, NC. 

 

Responsibilities include:  

  • Working safely and professionally to maintain and operate liquified natural gas plant equipment and facilities to include: electric-driven, reciprocating and centrifugal, natural gas compressors, cryogenic and ancillary equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, filters, instrumentation, and controls, etc.) piping, boilers, valves, storage tanks, reciprocating air compressors, auxiliary diesel generator and heaters;
  • Performs installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair of computer systems controls and microprocessor-based controls;
  • Installs, calibrates, performs preventive maintenance and repairs hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, electronic and air monitoring equipment and instruments;
  • Tests, repairs, and maintains regulators, relief valves, and measurement equipment and completes all facility logs as directed (electronic and hard copy).

 

The company is actively seeking United States Military Veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined here:  

  • Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2 or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

LNG Technician:  

  • 3 or more years of related experience in power plant operations, industrial setting process or operations;
  • Will to work 12 hour rotating shifts that requires weekends, holidays, and unscheduled overtime.


Sr. LNG Technician:  

  • 5 or more years of related experience in power plant operations, industrial setting process or operations;
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and calibrations;
  • Provides assistance to LNG Technicians for Plant Operation of Liquefaction and Vaporization Process.
  • Typical work schedule:  Monday - Friday (this level is not on a rotating shift)


Both:  

  • Will work at times in a control room environment and in inclement weather, such as: heat, cold, rain, and snow;
  • Makes decisions independently or with little assistance, provides assistance, advice and solutions to peers, customers and co-workers;
  • Helps to identify and implement better work alternatives and business processes;
  • Must be able to communicate effectively;
  • Must have computer skills sufficient for operating, programming and auditing databases and other applications.

Education Requirements

Both levels:  

  • An Associate Degree in the following disciplines is preferred:  Mechanical or Electronic, other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s)
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Must possess a valid driver's license and operate a company vehicle.
