Appliance Sales Representative

Job Summary

This self-motivated position is responsible for adding and retaining gas load within the residential and commercial customer base by selling natural gas appliances, products, and services provided by Dominion Energy North Carolina.  Job duties include initiating contact with potential customers to promote the use of natural gas as the preferred energy source, recommending expansion of natural gas lines in existing subdivisions, providing quality customer service, public relations, and meeting corporate, established sales targets.  Serves as a central point of contact between the Company and our customers. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of natural gas, HVAC, or sales experience.
  • Must have personal transportation to perform job duties.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a competent and professional manner.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office are required.
  • The ability to adapt to a changing business environment is essential. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to accurately complete a variety of required paperwork in a timely manner, including sales contracts.
  • Must be able to perform job duties outside of normal working hours. 
  • Physically accessing attics, basements and crawl spaces is required in order to accurately quote jobs. 
  • Knowledge and skills in sales and marketing practices and procedures and knowledge of installation codes and standards, equipment applications and sizing requirements, Customer Information Systems, and the PeopleSoft Inventory System are preferred. 
  • Bilingual (Spanish) candidates are preferred.
Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in related field.  Completion of High School or equivalent (i.e. GED) and 8-10 years related experience in lieu of degree. 

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Must have a valid drivers license and safe driving record.
