Job Summary

Installs, programs and maintains electrical and automation systems such as: RTU's, PLC's, electronic flow measurement devices, process control valves, wireless multiple address systems, environmental and hazardous monitoring equipment. Complies with company safety, environmental, and governmental policies and regulations as they apply.

 

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

  • Knowledge of electrical, automation, and instrument systems operation and design;
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code;
  • Knowledge of electrical construction;
  • Knowledge of Ohm's Law to figure voltage drop, circuit capacity, circuit resistance load capacity, horsepower, voltage and current;
  • Knowledge of company safety practices and procedures;
  • Knowledge of basic math and algebra;
  • Basic knowledge of electrical automation and measurement systems, including automatic control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC's), flow computers, AC and DC power systems and associated instrumentation;
  • Ability to understand and complete written and oral instructions;
  • Ability to understand electrical schematic drawings and wiring diagrams;
  • Ability to interact with others, communicate clear instructions, and evaluate results;
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
  • Ability to hear equipment warning bells and signals;
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 75 pounds and to move items weighing up to 500 pounds;
  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors;
  • Ability to see objects at close range;
  • Ability to see in the distance and to determine the distance and relationship between objects

 

Education Requirements

  • Must be a full-time or part-time student currently pursuing an Associate's of Applied Science degree
    • Electrical and Instrumentation Technology preferred
  • Must have an anticipated graduation date of Winter 2019 or later
  • Must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater
