Gas Measurement & Control Analyst

Job Summary

Measurement Engineering and Support is currently seeking a Gas Measurement & Control Analyst to fill an opportunity in DEQP’s operating area (reporting location will be determined based upon incumbent’s location and the need to centrally support operating areas).

Specific job responsibilities include:

  1. Ensures the implementation of accurate gas measurement procedures in adherence to API/AGA/GPA manuals, DEQP tariffs, and standard practices.
  2. Helps identify measurement errors.
  3. Directs and coordinates DEQP's meter inspection and cleaning program.
  4. Performs and participates in measurement audits on custody transfer measurement sites within DEQP; oversees measurement audits for receipt and delivery customers that utilize DEQP systems.
  5. Provides technical support and acts as a liaison with DEQP operations personnel, engineering and external entities; trains technicians on gas measurement and calibration techniques.
  6. Reviews and approves fabrication drawings and specifications for measurement, regulation and automation facilities for DEQP.
  7. Provides, reviews and revises DEQP Measurement/Automation Standard Practices, and other written policies and procedures.
  8. Maintains a database for all measurement related information.
  9. Reviews DEQP meter calibration reports.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

-6 years experience in the area of gas measurement or equivalent education and/or experience.  A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications.
-Associate Degree in a technical area such as automation or electronics and 6 years' experience in the area of gas measurement or equivalent education and/or experience.
-Knowledge of the DEQP Measurement procedures, gas industry best practices and trends.
-Knowledge of DEQP tariffs.
-Knowledge of gas measurement procedures included in AGA, API, and GPA standards and DEQP standard practices including calibration techniques.
-Knowledge of and ability to use a personal computer and related software that meet department needs.
-Knowledge of engineering principles.
-Basic math skills.
-Skill in gas measurement procedures.
-Skill in gas equipment calibration techniques.
-Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
-Ability to interact with others, to communicate clear instructions and evaluate results.
-Ability to provide instructor led training on measurement principles and concepts.
-Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
-Ability to provide technical training on gas measurement procedures included in AGA, API, and GPA standards, DEQP standard practices including calibration techniques.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
