Job Summary

This role manages the construction/operations/maintenance of the company’s electric distribution system within a designated area. A manager may oversee multiple local office locations. Responsible for maintaining an accident-free work environment, assure safe work practices are being followed. Ensures compliance with applicable DOT, EPA, OSHA, NFPA, state, local, legal and tariff regulatory requirements. Directs and monitors resources including labor, vehicles, equipment, and material to ensure cost effective work planning and resource utilization, reliability, quality workmanship, and project completion. Develops strategies and continuous improvement plans for managing the internal and contracted resources required to meet short- and long-term goals. Monitors expenditures and implementing cost controls to insure department/company budgets are met. Advises and assists in technical training and development of employees. Develops and maintains an effective union/management relationship. Administers local union contract and Human Resources policies to address employee and labor relations issues. This role is also highly engaged in service restoration as the Restoration Manager during local outage events and leading on and off system traveling contingents as “Point Person” on mutual aid assignments.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

8-10+ years of considerable related experience. Full knowledge of construction work methods, distribution system, distribution facility design, budgeting and accounting practices, union contract, Human Resources policies, project management, and company policies and procedures. Skills: leadership and management; excellent verbal and written communication; listening; project management; time management; planning and organizing and computer skills. Abilities: problem resolution; effective decision making; address and manage multiple tasks simultaneously; adapt to changing priorities; provide direction, oversight, and personnel management.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelors
