We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

The Corporate Security team is looking to hire a Technical Security Coordinator or Senior Technical Security Coordinator to support expanding Electric Transmission projects across the Dominion Energy footprint. The successful candidate will be the subject matter expert (SME) responsible for managing the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of physical security systems and equipment. There is one position available, and it will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience.  
 
Specific duties will include: 
 

  • Managing contracted services during the installation of security systems throughout the enterprise. 
  • Monitoring preventative maintenance contractor work for quality and compliance. 
  • Designing security applications and systems to accomplish desired security profile at company facilities. 
  • Developing technical security solutions based upon security assessments. 
  • Developing work scope for contracted technical services. 
  • Working with Supply Chain Management to leverage purchasing for maximum benefit to the company. 
  • Managing and tracks contractor costs and ensures timely payment. 
  • Developing and maintains minimum technical security standards for company facilities. 
  • Monitoring performance of systems and ensures preventative maintenance schedules are followed. 
  • Instructing user groups in the operation and testing of security systems and equipment. 
  • Procuring and keeping inventories of all equipment required for installations. 
  • Scheduling installation through coordination with affected parties. 
  • Making consistent determinations of best practice technical security applications that have significant financial, legal, and operational impact to the company. 
  • Facilitating integration of security systems throughout the enterprise. Maintains the integrity of automated security systems, including desktop applications and servers. 
  • Provides support, guidance, and acts as a resource for junior Technical Security Coordinators. (Senior level)

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Technical Security Coordinator 

  • 2+ years directly related work experience (with preferred Bachelor's degree) or 5+ years directly related work experience (with Associate's degree). 

Senior Technical Security Coordinator  

  • 5+ years of directly related work experience (with preferred Bachelor's degree) or 7+ years of directly related work experience (with Associate's degree) Note:  A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year of experience. 


Specific knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience include: 

  • Comprehensive knowledge and application of security principles and concepts to support access control, intrusion detection, visitor identification, event monitoring and countermeasures. 
  • Experience with integrating, administering, and maintaining AMAG, FLIR or similar security systems is a plus. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, with internal and external customers to provide customer with clear understanding of technical security practices and approaches impacting customer operations. 
  • Knowledge and experience dealing with specific issues associated with providing security at an energy company, and critical infrastructure protection. 
  • Consistent demonstration of critical thinking skills in a security environment. Ability to obtain government issued security clearance, as required. 
  • Basic knowledge of IT networking principles. 

Education Requirements

Education Level:

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:  Bachelor
 

Preferred Disciplines:

Security (focus on Physical Security systems, Access Control systems and Compliance)

Information Technology

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred disciplines listed above.
