We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Tax Accountant -You may prepare assigned federal, state, and/or local tax returns and tax payments in compliance with applicable tax laws.  Prepares assigned tax accurals in accordance with applicable financial or regulatory reporting requirements and associated controls.  Prepares, for management review, information for financial statements and regulatory filings.  May prepare annual budgets and actual to budget variances, as assigned.  May assist with drafting responses for internal and external audits of financial statements, regulatory filings, internal controls and tax returns.  Researched basic tax, accounting, or business issues related to assigned entities or projects and prepares tax memorandums, or other communications.  Contributes to special projects, as assigned.  May review work of other tax personnel.


Senior Tax Accountant -You may prepare and/or review all assigned federal, state and/or local tax returns, tax payments, and tax accruals, in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and established policies and procedures. Prepares information for financial statements and regulatory filings. Prepares annual tax budgets and maintains actual to budget variances, as assigned. Prepares responses for internal and external audits of financial statements, regulatory filings, internal controls, and tax returns. Researches tax, accounting, or business issues related to assigned entities or projects, and formulates and provides recommendations to management. May coordinate special projects, including analyzing tax issues in connection with acquisitions, divestures, or new business opportunities, identifying potential tax opportunities, and analyzing the impact of new or proposed tax laws and/or interpretations. Assists in training of co-workers and dissemination of new or emerging issues or information. Recommends changes to information gathering and tax filing processes.  A combination of knowledge developed through formal education and practical experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of concepts regarding tax laws and tax accounting practices and procedures, Knowledge of tax research methods with ability to interpret tax laws, to prepare general tax research memorandums, and to formulate recommendations for management,

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Tax Accountant-At least 3 years of accounting experience or 1 year public accounting or corporate tax department accounting experience.  Note:  A Master's degree will count as one year of experience.  A partial year of six months or more experience will be rounded up to one year of experience.
 

Senior Tax Accountant-At least 5 years of accounting experience or 4+ years of public accounting or corporate tax department accounting experience.  Note:  A Master's degree will count as one year of experience.  A partial year of six months or more experience will be rounded up to one year of experience.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Disciplines:  Accounting, Economics, Finance, Tax

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

CPA or other appropriate professional certification preferred.
