We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

This position provides recruiting support for the Dominion Energy Virginia (DEV) area of the organization and partners closely with field HR and business leadership to develop and execute a cost effective recruiting strategy that is consistent with business goals. The Sourcing Specialist will deliver a broad array of talent sourcing services that can range from supplemental job advertising to executing national targeted searches for niche roles, and the Sourcing Specialist will be expected to craft customized action plans aligned to a client’s requirements.  To fully understand their client’s talent needs, the Sourcing Specialist will participate in value-added strategy sessions with hiring leaders and recruiters.  

Over time, it is expected that they will develop expertise on the strategic needs of the business unit and the relevant talent markets. Ultimately, the Sourcing Specialist will strive to be viewed as a trusted advisor and essential problem-solver.  To execute external searches that will improve the quality and diversity of Dominion Energy’s candidate pools, the Sourcer will leverage a variety of tools such as LinkedIn and Indeed, and they will utilize best practices to build productive referral networks.  In their daily work, they will strive to fill immediate openings without losing focus on the importance of nurturing long-term talent pipelines.  Productive pipelining will be built on effective forecasting of talent needs and capturing prospect data for future use.


In addition to executing targeted searches, the Sourcing Specialist will engage with a variety of community partners including schools, professional organizations, and non-profits. These engagements will include campus career fairs, industry information sessions, and national conferences. A particular emphasis of this role will be in sourcing for all disciplines of Engineering Talent.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

3+ years of work experience in the fields of Recruiting or Human Resources.  (Note:  A Master's degree will count as one year of experience).
 

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders both inside and outside of the company
  • Proficient with MS Office, personal computers, and iPhones
  • Ability to work independently and to effectively manage their “desk”
  • Solid understanding of HR hiring policies and procedures
  • Proficient with managing data in Applicant Tracking Systems 
  • Ability to travel regionally and overnight


Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • 5+ years of work experience directly related to proactive talent sourcing.  (Note:  A Master's degree will count as one year of experience.  A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year).
  • Prior work experience with a contingent or retained third-party search firm
  • Proven success in sourcing candidates for difficult to fill positions
  • Demonstrated proficiency with digital sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, Handshake, etc.
  • Advanced ability to use techniques such as Boolean searches to identify prospects in databases 
  • Experience developing referral networks and pipelines of prospective candidates to meet future talent needs. 
  • High energy and the ability to promote an employer brand in a positive and professional manner. 
  • Proven ability to craft compelling marketing and communication resources
  • Project management, event planning, and meeting coordination skills
  • Prior experience recruiting STEM related roles
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize competing client deliverables

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:  Bachelor
