Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced IT infrastructure leader who is passionate about developing high-performing teams, driving operational excellence, and modernizing enterprise technology platforms. This role will initially lead teams supporting Server Virtualization and Data Center Automation tools while providing leadership across a broader portfolio of infrastructure services as business needs evolve, including container platforms and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate combines strong technical acumen, people leadership, and a collaborative approach to delivering reliable, scalable, and secure platform services.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervises activities of highly-skilled group of IT Enterprise Operations and IT software support personnel. Serves as top technical expert in one or more highly specialized phases of software systems programming. Arranges for necessary proactive and corrective actions, to ensure high, service availability of the IT network, mainframe, distributed computing systems, and mission-critical applications. Provides direct technical oversight for all requirements in planning, coordination, programming, and implementation of releases, upgrades, or changes to operating system software. Coordinates all activities to meet project deadlines and budgets. Resolves conflicting demands of users. Directs subordinate personnel, initiates personnel actions, and assigns tasks or projects, based upon department goals. Designs, recommends, operates, and monitors all aspects of Dominion computing infrastructure, at all computer room locations throughout Dominion. Leads NERC and SOX audits for IT Enterprise operations, working directly with auditors. Testifies during audits, concerning Dominion compliance with NERC CIP standards. Develops compensating controls for any items identified during an audit. May be monitored on the results of unit. Errors can cause substantial impact on revenues, customer losses, and overall unit operations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
Supervisor Skills
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience leading people in lead project management roles and/or direct supervision.
- General knowledge of business systems and operational processes.
- Strong organizational, multitasking and leadership capabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders effectively.
- Experience leading teams supporting enterprise infrastructure platforms, including automation, server virtualization, container platforms, and cloud technologies.
- Experience driving infrastructure modernization and platform lifecycle initiatives while collaborating effectively with application, security, architecture, and engineering teams.
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), platform engineering practices, and modern operational models that improve reliability, scalability, and service delivery.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
- Experience supporting both infrastructure and application development projects is highly desirable.
- Excellent people leadership and the ability to work well with others.
- The ability to motivate and develope people.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of IT network and software systems and tools, concepts, and applications.In-depth, expert knowledge of complex operating systems at Dominion, and how Dominion applications use these technologies.
- Operating systems include Unix, Linux, Windows, AIX, and IBM OS/390.In-depth, expert knowledge of complex storage systems at Dominion, and how Dominion applications use these technologies.
- Storage systems include Storage Area Network, and Network attached Storage.
- Excellent project management, process analysis, and process implementation skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.Ability to work under pressure.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor

Expected Hiring Base Salary Range:
$116,300 - $151,100
