Supervisor-IT Transport Carrier Infrastructure Network Design

Job Summary


Supervises activities of highly-skilled group of IT-Telecommunication Transport Network Services engineering personnel that support the Dominion Enterprise Transport Networks. Arranges for necessary proactive actions to ensure high service availability of the IT Transport network and mission-critical systems. Provides direct technical oversight for all requirements in planning, coordination and implementation of upgrades and projects.

Coordinates all activities to meet project deadlines and budgets. Resolves conflicting demands of users. Directs subordinate personnel, initiates personnel actions, and assigns tasks or projects, based upon company and various departmental goals. Supervises the designs and recommends all aspects of Dominion Transport network infrastructure, at all locations throughout Dominion.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience


Required Job Qualifications:
 

• Extensive experience and knowledge (7+ years) of transport network design work and reviewing project cost estimates that involve core transport infrastructure, microwave systems, land mobile radios, MPLS, BDA’s, OPGW and ADSS fiber optic cabling. (Note:  A Master's degree will count as one year of experience.  A partial year of experience of six months or more will be rounded up to one year of experience).

• Effective oral and written communication skills necessary to interact with Dominion Energy engineering teams and vendors.

• Effective computer skills including detailed knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Products to include Visio, Power Point, Excel, Word, and Outlook.


Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the Dominion Energy Transport infrastructure.

Education Requirements

Education Level: Bachelors Degree (Equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.) 
 

Preferred Disciplines: Information Systems ,Information Technology, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or related discipline/experience
