Job Summary
Dominion Energy is excited to offer an opportunity for a 2025 Summer Intern to perform engineering tasks supporting the Power Generation Engineering - Instrumentation & Controls (PGE I&C) team.
This internship provides engineering support to the PGE I&C team working with a control system engineer, the intern will learn the basic concepts of industrial controls systems used at Power Generation facilities. The intern will learn the basic concepts of monitoring, maintaining, upgrading, and replacing industrial control system and their components to keep the systems reliable. The intern will assist with various control system engineering tasks supporting projects and initiatives for power generation facilities. The intern will be expected to learn and understand Dominion Energy’s corporate culture of safety, ethics, excellence, embrace change, and one Dominion Energy.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
• Enrolled in a 4-year Electrical engineering degree from an ABET accredited Electrical engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET.
• Students should have a graduation date of spring 2026 or later.
• Must have a 2.5 GPA or greater.
• Introduction to engineering concepts and fundamentals.
• Personal computer software applications including Microsoft Office.
• Verbal, written and interpersonal communication; time management and organization; math and technical aptitude.
• Effectively interact and work in a team environment; attention to detail; understand and apply workflow process.
• Up to 75% office and up to 25% outside
Basic Qualifications
• Enrolled in a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program. Preferred majors: Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering
• Students should have a graduation date of spring 2026 or later.
• Must have a 2.5 GPA or greater.
