We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy is seeking a strategic data analytics professional with deep expertise in transforming complex supply chain and market data into clear, actionable insights. Leads the collection, organization, and cleansing of diverse data sets to support advanced analyses, including spending, pricing, inventory, and supplier performance. Skilled in building and guiding teams in the creation of intuitive data visualization tools that drive decision‑making and business strategy.

 

Acts as a subject matter expert on market data, developing tools and trend reporting to support sourcing initiatives, and serving as a trusted advisor to business partners and end‑users. Regularly presents technical findings to executives and cross‑functional teams, while also reviewing and strengthening the analytic work of peers.

 

Maintains and enhances a library of analytic scripts and documentation, ensures strong data governance, and contributes to the development of reporting and analytics roadmaps. Leads process improvement efforts, complex automation solutions, and high‑impact cross‑functional initiatives across the organization. Continuously researches emerging analytics trends and provides training to analysts and end‑users to elevate data literacy and best practices.

 

This individual’s role will include but is not limited to:

  • Leads gathering, organizing, and cleansing of various data types needed to perform complex analyses.
  • Recommends and provides advanced analytical support for strategic categories including spend, pricing, and inventory analysis, market impact assessments, and supplier reviews.
  • Builds and guides others in the development of data visualization tools which provide actionable insights and recommendations that empower business partners to identify opportunities and develop strategies.
  • Maintains and contributes to a library of data analytic scripts and associated documentation and develops associated documentation guidelines and improvements.
  • Serves as subject matter expert on market data and develops tools and reporting on market trends to support sourcing engagements.
  • Presents the results of a technical analysis to various teams including executive levels, and peer reviews materials prepared by other data analysts.
  • Serves as SME on end-user and business partner business drivers, needs and requirements.
  • Provides ongoing support for various strategic initiatives within Supply Chain and across the organization including leading strategic initiatives.
  • Leads process efficiency efforts and data governance improvements.
  • Leads key, complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Provides input into data tools roadmap development to proactively identify new and enhanced reports, tools and other innovative solutions.
  • Lead complex supply chain automation solutions.  
  • Research and identify new and emerging data analytics trends.
  • Provides training to other analysts and end-users on data, tools, and best practices.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

5+ years related work experience including 2 or more years of experience with performing data analysis and reporting.

  • Experience developing interactive data models, creating cause and effect diagrams, performing measurement studies, and conducting correlation analysis.
  • Experience developing interactive data models, using tools such as SQL, Snowflake, and any other relevant tools or skills.
  • Demonstrated experience building complex data visualization reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau.
  • Deep understanding of financial concepts and techniques.
  • Excellent project management skills, with ability to resolve problems and remove barriers to success.
  • Ability to conduct large-scale manipulation and analysis of large data sets of operations, process, marketplace, and procurement data.
  • Ability to develop and communicate presentations to senior audiences on complex problems.
  • Ability to navigate organization and to influence decisions.
  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes and data sets.
  • Knowledge of commercial and emerging data analysis and data visualization tools and technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge and practice of statistics and forecast modeling including predictive analytics.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Education Requirements

Degree or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Discipline(s): Supply Chain Analytics, Decision Analytics, Business Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Computer Science
