Job Summary

Dominion Energy's CFO - Accounting department is looking for a Senior Financial Systems Application Analyst or a Lead Financial Systems Application.

Responsibilities include:

  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex finance and accounting related systems issues and problems.  Aligns technology solutions with business strategies.  Partners with Accounting and other functional groups to communicate and clarify business needs, contributes to development of long-range accounting systems enhancement plans, and ensures products and services are aligned with business needs. 
  • Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, testing and quality control on system changes and enhancements.   Communicates trends and requirements to and from customers and IT. Assumes a senior role on multiple technology projects simultaneously and provides consultation and customer support to internal customers.
  • Guides and advises less experienced FSA analysists
  • Participates in industry organizations and specialized technology user groups to stay abreast of best practice business and technology processes.
  • Monitored on projects' progress and results.  Errors may cause delay, expense and disruption.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Senior Financial Systems Applications Analyst - 5+ years related experience (Note:  A Master's degree will count as one year of experience.  A partial year of six months or more experience will be rounded up to one year).
  • Lead Financial Systems Applications Analyst - 7+ years related experience (Note:  A Master's degree will count as one year of experience.  A partial year of six months or more experience will be rounded up to one year)
  • Excellent understanding of business systems and industry requirements
  • Accounting experience preferred
  • IT experience in business systems analysis, in a large-scale environment, across multiple hardware and software platforms, or business unit experience that includes working closely with IT in the development and implementation of large-scale systems.
  • Demonstrated competency in verbal, written, and presentation communications.
  • Demonstrated competency in interpersonal understanding.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and understand customer issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust, as this role supports all of Accounting functions.
  • Excellent technical knowledge in multiple areas of computer expertise, including:  systems design/integration/automation, complex spreadsheet or presentation development, large-scale data gathering/manipulation/integration, database design/integration, system/application administration and proficiency with ERP and other financial accounting systems
  • Knowledge and application of GAAP strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer confidence in the Accounting Information System team’s knowledge of, and concern for, the customer's business needs
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees, and to influence and impact others

  • Demonstrated organization and planning skills that include coordination of assigned projects, planning and scheduling, and time management

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor or Master

Preferred Disciplines: Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Business, Finance 

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus but not required
