We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Develops application architectures, or designs data architectures, focusing on one or the other, but could be proficient in both. Has accountability and responsibility for architecture of major applications and systems. Ensures architecture complies with approved standards. Participates in business process design or improvement. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with customer management and IT personnel. Designs effective IT solutions for business problems or strategies. Collaborates with other application and data teams, to optimize workflow and data across interconnected, business processes. Defines new data elements, structures, or changes to applications, to support major enhancements or new business initiatives. Guides and advises less experienced members of group. Has full accountability for technical quality and viability of a major application area, or category of data, supporting critical, business operations. In application-focused role, has responsibility for design and technical quality of a major application, or family of applications, supporting one or more critical business processes or functions. Develops and maintains comprehensive, unified, application design that meets all aspects of known or anticipated business requirements. Specifies design of business logic, interfaces, data, and presentation components of application(s). Maps application components to appropriate hardware, software, and network infrastructures, based on collaboration with infrastructure architects. Specifies methods and tools for development and enhancement of application(s), consistent with application requirements and established IT standards. Conducts design and code reviews, to ensure technical quality, alignment with business unit and enterprise architecture, and adherence to established standards and guidelines. Diagnoses major operational problems, and recommends architecture-level changes to meet availability, reliability, or performance objectives. In data-focused role, has responsibility for definition, design, and integrity of data supporting a major business function. Defines data element names, aliases, data definitions, and standard data values accurately describing actual entities, attributes, and relationships in a major subject area. Specifies system of record for each data element. Utilizes system of record, where feasible, in fulfilling data needs. Supports business intelligence methods and tools, to gain additional value from data assets. Establishes and implements security and integrity controls, protecting data assets and meeting business and regulatory requirements. Conducts design reviews to ensure data quality, consistency with established data architecture(s), and adherence to established standards and guidelines. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Candidates must possess skills & experiences necessary to meet the following expectations:

  • 7+ years of Information Technology experience, including work in multi-platform operating environments, computing architectures, and implementation of networked computing structures.
  • Experience working across multiple teams and organizations to deliver solutions that span business units.
  • Knowledge of company architecture standards and how to ensure solutions comply (and how to help improve standards when needed).
  • Knowledge of security and integrity controls and how to design solutions that protect assets and meet business and regulatory requirements.
  • Creation of architecture and design documentation related to all ITBA Electric Transmission capital projects, tech strategies, and application modernization efforts.
  • Experience supporting Electric Transmission work, such as building custom applications, designing system-to-system interfaces, and/or installing/configuring vendor applications.
  • Handling governance responsibilities, including change order approvals, risk assessments, and division of responsibilities for shared substations.
  • Ensuring NERC compliance requirements are met for Electric Transmission locations, including virus scanning and Dragos monitoring.

Qualified candidates should have the following skills/experience:

  • Expert knowledge of multi-platform operating environments, computing architectures, and implementation of networked computing structures.
  • Expertise in NERC compliance.
  • Direct work experience with cloud solutions and/or Kubernetes.
  • Expertise with Process Unity and cyber risk assessments.
  • Expertise in developing or integrating telemetry and/or asset data (PI, synchrophasors, SAP PM, etc.).
  • Experience in Information Technology.
  • Ability to translate business outcomes into technical designs and implementation plans that support those outcomes.

Preferred experience:

  • Experience working with Azure and OpenShift.
  • Experience Supporting and managing AWS environments

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Mathematics.
