Senior Systems Analyst or Systems Analyst Specialist - GIS. Richmond or Salt Lake City

Job Summary

Two positions are available which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
 
This Senior Systems Analyst and Systems Analyst Specialist position is part of the GIS team and will be responsible for providing feasibility studies, systems analysis documents, QA walkthroughs and project estimates. The incumbent must be able to design complete solutions for new enterprise applications and provide improvements for existing solutions. This role works with multiple business units, in multi-platform environments, on multi-project assignments. This position requires strong analytical, communication, coordination, planning and organizational skills.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 

  • Responding to system failures and performance events, take appropriate steps to reduce system downtime.
  • Planning and overseeing the implementations of releases
  • Formulating or defining system scope and objectives, based on user needs
  • Devising or modifying procedures to solve complex problems, considering computer capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results
  • Guiding and advising less experienced Systems Analysts
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
     

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Requirements for Senior Systems Analyst: 

  • 5-7+ years of related IT or GIS IT experience 

Requirements for Systems Analyst Specialist: 

  • 7+ years of related IT or GIS IT experience 

Requirements for both levels: 

  • Technical experience with Schneider Electric ArcFM Suite, Small World, and Esri GIS software (versions ArcGIS 9.3, ArcGIS 10.x, ArcFM, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server 10.x, Portal for ArcGIS 10.4+, ArcGIS Enterprise and others) 
  • The ability to provide geospatial analysis techniques, support and configurations
  • The ability to provide vision and establish best practices
  • Fluency in programming skills such as: SQL, Python, .NET, ArcObjects, ArcGIS Model Builder, FME and other spatial data processing tools
  • Strong Oracle spatial skills and some SQL server skills
  • Knowledge of GIS web application development using ArcGIS Server JavaScript APIs with web development technologies such as HTML5, XML, CSS3, Ajax, DOJO, JQuery, JavaScript, REST, and SOAP/XML Web Services
  • Ability to be productive with little direction (except at the Associate level)
  • Training and leadership skills in order to lead and mentor less experienced analysts
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well with Project Manager and peers to complete work
  • Ability to meet with the business in a team setting, develop requirements collaboratively, and produce proper documentation
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects at once and remain cool under pressure
  • Flexibility, patience, and creativity
