Senior Siting & Permitting Specialist Power Generation

Job Summary

This role primary responsibility will be to identify potential sites for distributed electric generating assets including solar, wind, battery storage and peaking gas turbines. The secondary responsibilities will include market research and support for existing project management and ongoing project development.

- Analyzes property data and GIS maps in markets to identify potential generation project sites

- Monitors and analyzes Interconnection queues

- Performs project feasibility analysis

- Coordinates and facilitates initial landowner contact for potential generation project sites

- Uses all relevant information to research and understand local communities where the company has a business interest

- Contributes to project development related research, including state and local permitting and regulatory processes

- Establishes, maintains, and updates project specific files, databases, records and other documents

- Guides, advises and trains less experienced Siting and Permitting Specialists


Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and education required for entry into this job include the following:

- 5-7 years related experience in land use, real estate and/or environmental (erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, wetlands protection).

- Experienced with GIS/Graphic design computer applications, Adobe Professional, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

- Full knowledge of local, state and federal laws concerning permitting transmission and substation facilities

- Strong organizational skills are a must, with the ability to prioritize a large task load in a fast-paced environment

- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to solve complex problems with little, to no, supervision

- Must be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education Requirements

Education Level:

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor


Disciplines: Preferred: Engineering; Environmental Science; Geography

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
