Senior Network Administrator

Job Summary

Dominion Energy is seeking an experienced Senior Network Administrator for implementation, maintenance and operational support of large enterprise networks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance and changes on Routers, Switches and wireless equipment, as required
  • Performs Implementation/Configuration of new routers, switches and wireless devices, as required
  • Assists with troubleshooting internetwork connectivity and wireless issues.
  • Utilizes change management and ticketing systems, documents status updates and problem resolutions.
  • Complete all assignments and project work in a timely manner with an acceptable level of quality
  • Follows documented processes, procedures and policies
  • Performs customer service duties and responds to customer and project requests as defined by management
  • Requires the employee to be in an on call support rotation with the other team members
  • Other related duties assigned as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

  • Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years experience administering Cisco Routers and Switches OR
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years experience administering Cisco Routers and Switches OR
  • Associate's degree with a minumum of 7 years experience administering Cisco Routers and Switches OR
  • High school diploma/GED with a minumum of 9 years experience administering Cisco Routers and Switches

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have experience with Cisco router and switches; Brocade, Juniper & Nokia experience is a plus
  • Must have networking TCP/IP routing experience
  • Deep understanding of network protocols –EIGRP, BGP, MPLS,  QOS, STP, DHCP, SNMP, TCP, UDP.
  • Must have advanced experience with network break/fix of layer 2 and 3 environments
  • Must have the ability to analyze packet captures, in detail.
  • Ability to make recommendations to create corporate efficiencies for all activities
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work effectively under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be team-oriented, placing priority on quality and the successful completion of team goals
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

 

Preferences:

  • Network related industry certifications a plus.

 

Military Experience:

  • The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined above.

 

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor

Coursework in Infomations Systems or Computer Sciences a plus.
