This role provides geospatial analysis and decision-support tools that help identify, evaluate, and advance new electric generation projects from early-stage screening through development and permitting. This role ensures that GIS applications, services, and underlying data remain accurate, accessible, and aligned with the evolving needs of the broader development team as it evaluates and advances electric power generation projects.
This position assists in siting and provides technical support for generation development projects across a diverse mix of technologies, including utility-scale solar, distributed solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), natural gas generation, advanced nuclear technologies, and other emerging energy resources. The Analyst delivers spatial analysis, data management, and mapping support that inform site evaluation as well as environmental, permitting, and real estate considerations, and develops executive-level maps, dashboards, and visualizations that support project development decisions, portfolio planning, regulatory filings, and leadership communications. The role collaborates with project development, environmental, engineering, transmission, permitting, and real estate teams to support site selection and project advancement activities.
This role requires knowledge of ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and data management practices, with experience managing GIS services, developing and maintaining GIS applications. Familiarity with AutoCAD and raster analysis is preferred. Strong understanding of Microsoft products is expected, along with the ability to translate complex spatial data into clear, professional deliverables that support executive decision-making.
A preferred background includes siting and environmental constraints, real estate, permitting, and/or the energy industry. This position requires a driven, innovative, and technically minded individual with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to developing and enhancing GIS tools and applications that support the Generation Development group’s siting and technical objectives.
