We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

This role is responsible for performing the complex set of activities associated with analyzing, summarizing/consolidating and reporting financial results across Dominion Energy Virginia.

Applies extensive technical knowledge to enhance decision making for a rapidly changing and specialized business area.  Implements new financial reporting standards and ensures reporting is in accordance with GAAP, SEC and other regulatory guidelines. 

Provides analysis and presentation data to support monthly reporting to senior leadership. Interacts with multiple business units to reconcile earnings variances and understand key drivers.

Coordinates development of the budget and financial forecasts. Works with senior management to develop and monitor business unit goals and objectives. Perform accounting due diligence, evaluate and support strategic initiatives as required.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

7+ years of financial, budgeting and/or accounting related experience, preferably working with various business segments across an organization.  Note:  A partial year of experience of six months or more will be rounded up to one year.

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial management and analysis, accounting standards and practices, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, FERC and SEC accounting
  • Knowledge and experience in financial planning and analysis
  • Excellent leadership, organization and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be customer-focused in a large organization
  • Excellent ability to work under own initiative and tight deadlines
  • Extensive knowledge of Power BI, Excel, macros, Powerpoint and SAP
  • Demonstrated competency in identifying and solving problems, and in logical & analytical thinking. 
  • Experience, understanding and knowledge of or demonstrated ability to learn and understand customer processes and issues. 
  • Ability to work with people from all levels of the organization in order to influence and impact others with decisions that may have significant budgetary impact. 
  • Ability to work independently and to lead/mentor teams. 
  • Ability to handle deadlines and pressure with concern for quality. Strong conceptual thinking and reasoning abilities. 
  • Demonstrated competency in verbal, written and presentation communication.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with self-control and flexibility.

 

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:  Master
