Job Summary

Responsible for performing the complex set of activities associated with analyzing, forecasting, summarizing and reporting financial results. Plays a key role in forecasting company’s electric sales and revenue. Provides analysis and presentation data to support monthly variance explanations. Interacts with multiple business units to reconcile earnings variances and prepare balance-of-the-year and out-year forecasts. Coordinates development of the budget and financial forecasts. Works with leadership team to develop and monitor business unit goals and objectives. Performs accounting due diligence and controls.
 

The successful applicant will be expected to mine large volumes of historical billed and unbilled data (including AMI data) and transform that data into useful information that will help explain revenue variances and customer electric usage over time.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

5+ years of related experience.  Note:  A Master's degree will count as one year of experience.  A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year.


Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include: 

 

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficiency in the use of SQL query language is highly desirable
  • Understanding of sales and revenue variance reporting techniques and approaches
  • Proficiency in the use of relational databases and one or more major analysis software platforms such as R, Python, or SAS
  • Demonstrated ability to think analytically and solve complex problems
  • Highly skilled in importing, cleaning, modeling, and visualizing data
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Researches and analyzes factors that impact long range sales and revenue growth
  • Experience with electric utility forecasting is desired but not required.
  • Ability to process information quickly and effectively and manage multiple tasks
  • Able to take lead role in projects
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Knowledge of building data dashboards using tools such as Power BI
  • Knowledge and experience in financial planning and analysis
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be customer-focused in a large organization
  • Excellent ability to work under own initiative and tight deadlines

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor 

Master's degree is highly desirable
