Senior Economist (Electric Utility Load Forecasting)

Job Summary
  • Perform economic analysis, load research and forecasting.
  • Maintain and enhance complex economic models which provide essential business information such as historical and predictive analysis of class and end-use sales.
  • Maintain, enhance, and develop analytic tools, data processes and methods to analyze and present load research and forecast results.
  • Support sales and revenue budget development and variance reporting.
  • Provide full support of regulatory matters related to the load forecast.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Note:  This position does offer corporate relocation benefits for those candidates who meet program eligibility requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
  • 5+ years of directly related experience (Note:  Six months of experience will be rounded up to one year.  Also, a Master's degree will count towards one year of experience)
  • Full knowledge of concepts and applications of statistical analysis or econometrics, and economics or demography;
  • Proficiency in the use of one or more major statistical analysis software platforms such as R, SAS, or MetrixND; use of the SQL query language and relational databases;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:Bachelor or Master's degre

Preferred disciplines: Economics, Mathematics,Statistics
