Senior Controls Specialist (Financial Analysis)

Job Summary

The Gas Infrastructure Group Financial Controls department is responsible for supporting the “on-time” and “on-budget” completion of large construction projects within the Dominion Energy Gas Infrastructure organization by providing accurate and timely reporting of project financials, implementing and tracking project performance metrics, and creating value added forward looking projections and analysis.

As a Senior Controls Specialist within this group you will be responsible for supporting the New Gas Business Development organization including the innovative Renewable and Liquefied Natural Gas portfolio of projects as well as providing financial support to other large capital growth projects within the Gas Infrastructure organization.

These responsibilities include the estimating and cost controls for gas infrastructure construction projects. Develop and review project estimates. Monitor actual project cost and/or work status data to ensure projects proceed on schedule and within budget and provide status reports to management. Develop and review capital budgets and analyze monthly cost reports.

Assist in training lower-level controls personnel. Implement, evaluate and monitor cost control processes. Conduct meetings with contractors and company personnel on cost control matters. Act as lead controls discipline representative to major projects. Interface and coordinate with other corporate groups. Establish and implement cost and planning control policy and procedures.

Note:  Corporate relocation is available for this position for candidates who meet program requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
  • 5+ years of related financial analysis and/or financial controls experience (Note:  A Master’s degree can count towards one year of experience)
  • Performed Cost Controls on large capital construction projects is preferred but not required
Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
