We offer a hybrid work schedule (one week in the office, one week of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

The Business Technology Analyst (BTA) serves as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and the IT Data Analytics team. This role is responsible for understanding business needs, translating them into technical requirements, and ensuring delivery of data-driven solutions such as dashboards, reports, and analytical data products.

The BTA works closely with data engineers, data scientists, and platform teams to:

  • Enable data-driven decision-making
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives and data solutions
  • Support enterprise data platforms and reporting initiatives

This role contributes to capabilities such as:

  • Requirements gathering
  • Data modeling inputs
  • Reporting and dashboard development
  • Data quality and governance practices

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

4–6 years of experience in:
  • Business analysis
  • Data analytics / BI
  • IT systems analysis
Experience working in:
  • Data warehouse / analytics environments
Hands-on exposure to:
  • SQL
  • Reporting or dashboard tools
Experience working with cross-functional teams (business + IT)

A. Business & Requirements Management

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements across domains (Finance, HR, Operations, etc.)
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements
  • Work with Product Owners and stakeholders to define user stories and backlog items
  • Act as a liaison between business teams and IT delivery teams

B. Data & Analytics Delivery Support

  • Collaborate with Data Engineers on:
    • Data pipelines
    • Data warehouse design
    • Data integration requirements
  • Support Data Scientists for:
    • Analytical use cases
    • Data exploration and insights generation
  • Assist in development of:
    • Power BI dashboards
    • Reports and self-service analytics solutions

C. Data Governance & Quality

  • Ensure adherence to:
    • Data quality standards
    • Data security and compliance requirements
  • Validate data accuracy and completeness
  • Support metadata, lineage, and business definitions

D. Testing & Validation

  • Develop test cases and perform:
    • Data validation
    • UAT coordination
  • Ensure solutions meet business requirements before production deployment

E. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Communicate insights and solution designs to business users
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions
  • Provide ongoing support and enhancements for data products

F. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process improvement opportunities
  • Support adoption of:
    • Self-service analytics
    • Data literacy initiatives
  • Contribute to DataOps and agile delivery practices

Required Skills

A. Functional / Business Skills

  • Strong business analysis and requirements gathering skills
  • Understanding of business processes across utility domains (finance, operations, regulatory)
  • Ability to translate business needs into data/technical solutions

B. Technical Skills

  • SQL (data querying & validation)
  • Data warehousing concepts (facts, dimensions, ETL/ELT)
  • Experience with:
    • Snowflake or cloud data platforms
    • Power BI / BI tools
  • Understanding of:
    • Data modeling
    • Data pipelines
    • Data integration

C. Data & Analytics Skills

  • Data analysis and profiling
  • Data visualization and storytelling
  • Data quality assessment
  • Exposure to advanced analytics concepts (nice-to-have: ML/AI awareness)

D. Soft Skills

  • Strong communication (business + technical translation)
  • Stakeholder management and collaboration
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Ability to work in Agile / cross-functional teams

Experience and Educational Qualification

 
 
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or any related field
