We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

The successful candidate(s) will support electric generation within the Power Generation business unit. The Senior Business Development Manager is considered a leadership role with project management responsibilities that include leading development and acquisition/partnership activities or originating offtake contracts with customers for energy infrastructure projects. For project acquisition/partnership opportunities, this role is responsible for leading negotiations and for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing energy infrastructure projects in the electric or gas businesses. For the development of energy infrastructure projects, the Senior Business Development Manager is accountable for the entire business case and project scope, project team, permitting, interconnection agreements, obtaining land rights, maintaining schedules and plans, planning for corporate governance and senior management communications. The Senior Business Development Manager is expected to mentor other junior team members in aspects of energy infrastructure project development, project acquisitions/partnerships, and energy technologies. With extensive knowledge of the energy industry, the Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for leading and pursuing growth strategies and opportunities. This includes leading evaluation, analysis, due diligence activities, and negotiations for prospective energy infrastructure acquisition and development opportunities. The Senior Business Development Manager is the lead participant in negotiations of project contracts and agreements, pro forma financial modeling and analysis, preparation of regulatory or governmental filings/applications, executive level communications, preparation of governance materials and public presentations. This includes leading internal teams from multiple disciplines and departments including construction, operations, external affairs, public policy, corporate communications, legal, tax, accounting, environmental, risk management, fuels, treasury, investor relations and financial analysis.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

A minimum of 8 years of directly relevant experience is required (financial analysis, project management, account management, contract negotiations, project development, or other similar roles). An industry expert with extensive knowledge of electric and/or gas project development and facility production business and energy markets generally acquired through related work experience. Superior financial analysis skills, including ability to review and make investment recommendations based on pro forma financial statement inputs and results.  Experience in leading commercial contract negotiations, acquisition/partnership and divestiture activities, and development of large or small energy projects/facilities. Exemplary leadership and communication abilities (oral/written/presentation/interpersonal) to drive results in a team environment under minimal direction with internal and external customers and stakeholders.  Ability to analyze information and make strategic business decisions using sound judgement skills. Strong organizational, risk analysis, and project planning/execution skills are also required. Must be able to effectively prioritize multiple key project efforts. Demonstrated computer skills including all MS Office applications.
