We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Acts as a liaison to all departments on energy diversion and revenue protection procedures as needed. Maintains relations between the customer and the organization on all diversion or revenue protection matters. Effectively communicates with customers to help resolve billing concerns; i.e. high bill, cross meter and rate investigations. Identifies areas for process improvement or needs for new products, and prepares specifications accordingly. Investigates, analyzes and resolves situations identified as potential energy diversion in the field. Visits residential and commercial premises to determine if diversion situations or a discrepancy exists. Attempts to solve problems by employing courtesy and tact in person or through written correspondence. Investigates meter malfunctions, switched meter conditions, current diversion and cut meter seals/tampering, and takes necessary action. Accomplishes follow-up action on disconnected accounts. Gathers facts and evidence to support any administrative actions and/or prosecutions that may be required. Prepares reports and collects supporting information including sketches, photographs, signed statements, police reports, recorded statements, and witness interviews. Conducts thorough investigations of utility theft or fraud, following the rules of evidence and documenting all of procedures. Works with law enforcement officers when necessary. Provides backup support to Customer Credit Representatives. Provides storm support as requested, by fulfilling designated storm role.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

5+ years of directly related experience. 

  • Good knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures related to energy diversion, basic electricity, revenue collection, metering points, company safety policies and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of the company rate schedules.
  • Ability to work independently and to use extensive experience, creativity and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with our customers.
  • Ability to assess the situation and make decisions independently.
  • Ability to analyze various situations with high degree of accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical aptitude.
  • Organization and time-management skills.

Education Requirements

Required Degree (equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree): High School Graduate or GED

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Valid State Driver's License.
