We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Our regulatory department is seeking an entry level OR a mid-level Regulatory Analyst to support the development of rate design and pricing for cost recovery. The position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Key Responsibilities: Ensures timely filing of rate and/or rider applications and compliance documents. Prepares regulatory filings and tariffs, work papers, documentation, analyses, and discovery responses. Assists in implementation of approved rates. Monitors and analyzes regulatory changes. Provides information to ensure compliance with regulatory commission directives. Provides research or gathers supporting information that may be presented to regulators, internal and external counsel, and outside consultants. Provides information and performs studies, to enable preparation of expert written and oral testimony in regulatory proceedings. Ensures tariffs conform to regulatory requirements and obligations. May be required to work occasionally during nights and/or weekends to meet certain regulatory deadlines. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Entry Level: 1-2 years' experience in state and/or federal regulatory rate design process, or equivalent experience.

Mid-Level: 2-5 years' eperience in state and/or federal regulatory rate design process, or equivalent experience.

 

  • Knowledge of economics and pricing concepts, analytical techniques, and regulatory issues, preferred.
  • Effective analytical, computer, problem assessment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of and capability to program in SAS, prefrred.
  • Ability to analyze customer billing data and interval data, preferred.
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend courses of action, in response to inquiries.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Discipline(s): Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
