We offer a hybrid work schedule (one week in the office, one week of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

Provides technical consulting and/or leadership on complex projects. Serves as technical expert in one or more areas of applications systems analysis and programming. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs. Works company-wide in multi-platform environments, on multi-project assignments. Acts as a project work team or group leader. May act as an expert in business or functional area. Errors may cause significant disruption to operations or major costs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

Expert (7-8+ years) understanding of programming or systems analysis. Full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming. Experience in adapting to and applying rapidly-changing technology to business needs. Demonstrated competency in verbal communications, written communications, and interpersonal understanding. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust. Ability to instill confidence in the Information Technology teams' knowledge of, and concern for, the customer's business needs. Demonstrated ability to handle deadlines and pressure. Working fairly independently, formulates and defines systems scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex projects, and often multiple phases of a project. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs. Works at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming. Works company wide, in multi-platform environments, on multiple project assignments. Guides and advises less experienced Programmer Analysts. Monitored on projects' progress and results. 

Preferred experience includes:

At least 2 years’ experience with Outage Management Systems/ at an Energy company.

At least 10 years’ experience with .NET C# and Visual Basic, including .net framework and .net core.

At least 10 years’ experience with web applications, including HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, Blazor, and MVC.

At least 10 years’ experience writing and executing SQL, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle SQL, and DB2.

At least 5 years’ experience with writing and consuming web services, including SOAP, RESTful and WebAPI services as well as interfaces writing and consuming SFTP.

At least 5 years’ experience using Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux to install and administer web applications, services, and scheduled tasks.

Previous experience in performing application performance testing.

Previous experience in setting coding and pattern standards and mentoring other developers.

Previous experience building Devops pipelines and releases.

Previous experience with Tibco, JMS and MQ messaging.

Previous experience with authentication workflows leveraging AD credentials, Basic HTPP authentication and OAuth2 Bearer tokens to secure internal and external applications.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Discipline(s): Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business, Information Systems, Mathematics

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
