We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

  • Serves as technical expert in Computerized Data Analysis, Modeling, and Data Science within the business organization.
  • Provides technical consulting and leadership on complex projects.  
  • Works with domain experts to frame problems in a business context.
  • Conducts requirements gathering and design sessions, defines and documents the scope and objectives for analytic use cases/solutions.
  • Architects, builds, and deploys business-oriented analytics solutions.  
  • Serves as guide and mentor to less experienced analysts and leads cross-functional business team(s) on complex projects, as needed.
  • Clearly articulates and presents analytic solutions and/or analytic insights to all levels of the business organization to optimize or improve processes.
  • Advocates and evangelizes data-fueled solutions that help the business organization gain deeper insights.
  • Adapts to and applies rapidly changing technology to business needs.  
  • Employs and maintains machine learning and statistical algorithms/models to support descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.  
  • Performs statistical testing and evaluation to assess efficacy of the models/solutions before implementation.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and communicates model performance and business impacts to customers.
  • Oversees scheduling and execution of jobs to ensure reliable, accurate, and timely delivery of forecasts and reports.  
  • Works on multiple data platforms and develops analytic solutions using multiple technologies and programming languages.  
  • Develops effective analytics solutions for data in different formats and from various internal/external systems.
  • Develops and maintains data pipelines.
  • Selects appropriate datasets and data representation methods.  
  • Works within the business unit and collaborates with other business units, in multi-platform environments, on multiple project assignments.
  • Embraces innovation and operational excellence by implementing processes and policies that create efficiencies. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • 7+ years directly related experience in computerized data analysis, modeling, and data science
  • Expert level experience in machine learning, programming, querying, data structures, statistics, data visualization & communication with business stakeholders
  • Strong experience in adapting to and applying rapidly changing technology to business needs
  • Advanced proficiency in utilizing tools such as Hadoop, Python, Spark, R, R Studio Shiny, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
  • Demonstrated competency in identifying and solving problems, and in logical and analytical thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to research and understand customer processes and issues
  • Demonstrated ability to combine technical knowledge with business domain expertise
  • Ability to work with people from all levels of the organization in order to influence and impact others
  • Ability to work independently and to lead/mentor team of less experienced Quantitative Data Analysts
  • Ability to handle deadlines and pressure with concern for quality
  • Strong conceptual thinking and reasoning abilities

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

 

Preferred Disciplines: Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Business
