Job Summary
|
This position is for the Manager of Generation Development, focused on energy storage. The Manager of Generation Development leads a team responsible for executing the growth strategy and leading the development, acquisition, and partnership of energy infrastructure projects and facilities for the electric power generation business segment. This role oversees multi-million-dollar transactions and project development efforts, including the acquisitions or development of projects. The position will also oversee new technology development, including non-lithium alternatives, long duration energy storage, and support further development of vendors.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies to achieve power generation business development growth, directing economic evaluations, managing development timelines, and overseeing risk assessments for acquisitions and new projects being developed by the company. The role also prepares proposals for internal senior management approval and leads the negotiation and execution of agreements related to acquisitions and divestitures, governmental permits and agreements, infrastructure resources, land rights, and other critical business transactions. The position will also be responsible for the development of and support of regulatory filings.
The position activity pursues opportunities to grow the electric power generation business by identifying prospects, analyzing opportunities, designing proposals, and negotiating commercial terms. Additionally, the role is accountable for implementing business plans, managing budgets, and maintaining essential planning and execution tools to support team performance and project success.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
9+ years directly related experience. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the electric power generation business and energy markets, generally acquired through considerable related work experience. Strong expertise in research, marketing and business development practices. Advanced understanding of laws and regulations related to business contracts and electric power generation, and utility regulation. Highly developed negotiating skills. Proven ability to apply scientific and analytical principles to solve complex problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare proposals, reports, executive summaries, and regulatory filings. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to convey clear instructions, collaborate effectively across teams, and evaluate outcomes.

Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering or the Sciences

Master’s degree preferred in Business/Finance or an MBA
