We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

This role supports the deployment, operation, and evolution of an enterprise-wide platform for managing Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), enabling integration and real-time coordination across bulk generation, transmission, and distribution levels to meet modern grid demands. 

 

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining structured processes for platform management-spanning product lifecycle oversight, defect resolution, release scheduling, and change control. The position ensures seamless system interoperability by analyzing infrastructure dependencies and collaborating with IT, cybersecurity, and risk management teams. It also manages software version upgrades and security patching to safeguard performance, reliability, and compliance.

 

The role requires advanced analysis of emerging technologies such as microgrids, virtual power plants (VPPs), and network applications to support integration of DERs into the distribution system. It involves cross-functional collaboration to develop financial business cases for capital expenditures and operational costs, design new load flexibility programs, and scale grid control architectures.

 

This position plays a strategic role in shaping regulatory filings such as the Grid Transformation Plan and supporting legislative initiatives. The role includes pursuing funding opportunities with federal agencies (e.g., DOE) and cultivating partnerships with utilities, research institutions, and technology vendors to advance the company’s DER and grid modernization objectives.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

 

8-10+ years of experience. Extensive related experience. Demonstrated leadership ability. In-depth knowledge of electric distribution systems and operations. Ability to establish and maintain rapport with external and internal customers, including officials of government and regulatory agencies. Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational Strong analytical, problem resolution and effective decision-making skills.

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: 

Bachelors

Preferred discipline(s): Business Administration, Engineering, Engineering Technology
