Job Summary

Dominion Energy’s Corporate Compensation department is seeking a strategic thinker to lead a team of compensation analysts to partner with the business segments and human resources in the development, implementation and administration of competitive compensation programs and policies. The selected candidate will work with all levels of leadership, and interface with employees, as required to help them understand the compensation strategy and structure. 

The individual in this role:

 

  • Manages the design, implementation, administration, communication and legal compliance of compensation programs, systems and policies, including job evaluations, salary structures, merit pay programs, annual and leadership incentive plans, and supplemental and premium pay policies.
  • Develops compensation strategies and programs which support corporate, business segment and department strategy and objectives.
  • Develops and conducts training for human resources business partners and leadership to understand compensation programs and policies.
  • Conducts periodic benchmarking and peer comparison of compensation philosophy, policies and programs to ensure the company maintains a competitive total compensation program.
  • Oversees compensation survey participation, responses, and analysis to ensure compensation programs are competitive and cost effective.
  • Manages the compensation staff in the organization and administration of compensation systems.
  • Maintains the repository of retention agreements, pay protection documentation and other compensation related materials in order to ensure compliance.
  • Manages rate case and audit responses regarding compensation to ensure accuracy and compliance. 
  • Works with highly sensitive information at times, performing individual contributor duties until related details are public.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
     

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

8+ years directly related experience in compensation, leadership, human resources, project management or communications; specific compensation experience highly preferred (Note:  A Master's degree will count as one year of experience.  A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year)

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:
 

  • In depth knowledge of compensation and other human resources related regulations and standards
  • Knowledge of company compensation programs and policies
  • Knowledge of company human resources policies and programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and management/supervisory skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills 
  • Customer service orientation


The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined above.

  • Military service members and veterans with a rank of E-5 or higher plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above.

Education Requirements

Bachelors Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Preferred: Certified Compensation Pro (CCP); Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR); SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)
