We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.
Job Summary
Dominion Energy Virginia’s Electric Transmission (ET) department is seeking motivated, engaged engineer in Operations Planning Engineering: You will assist with transmission reliability studies, working on outage coordination, and supporting real-time operations. The System Operations Center (SOC) is responsible for supporting DE’s evolving electric transmission grid. Operators at the SOC make real-time decisions that balance electricity supply and demand to keep the lights on.
The internship is on-site and will be located at Magnolia System Operations Center in Richmond, VA.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program.
- Basic understanding of Electricity and Power Systems.
- Equally effective working independently or in a team environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Time management skills with the ability to independently plan and organize work assignments.
- Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.
Education Requirements
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (preferred fields include Electrical Engineering with a concentration in power systems or Computer Engineering) from an ABET accredited Engineering program at a four year or post-graduate college or university.
- Must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.
