Join Dominion Energy's Power Contracts & Market Origination (PC&MO) Team as an intern and gain hands-on experience supporting the procurement of renewable energy resources that help power communities across Virginia and North Carolina!

As an intern, you'll work alongside experienced professionals and gain exposure to competitive bidding processes, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), contract administration, and wholesale energy markets. You'll contribute to meaningful projects while building skills that support future careers in energy, business, economics, finance, supply chain, and contract management.

The PC&MO Team assists the Energy Supply department of Dominion Energy Virginia (DEV) in obtaining Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to augment the company's generation assets and meet its mission, as well as regulatory obligations, to provide clean, affordable energy to customers throughout Virginia and North Carolina.

What Will I Do?

  • Support the maintenance of contract information used to track Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).
  • Help prepare reports, presentations, and exhibits used for business and regulatory purposes.
  • Participate in annual and quarterly Request for Proposal (RFP) processes that support Dominion Energy's renewable energy goals.
  • Research energy markets, contracts, and industry trends to support business initiatives and decision-making.
  • Contribute to process improvement projects by helping document and update departmental procedures and job aids.
  • Support contract administration and monthly billing activities through data review and validation efforts.
  • Collaborate with team members on special projects related to renewable energy procurement, contract management, and wholesale energy markets.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other business applications.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate in cross-functional environments.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical and analytical calculations.
  • Intellectual curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn and grow.

Education Requirements

Education Level:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree and expected to graduate in 2028 or 2029.
  • Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.

Preferred Majors:

  • Business Administration, Supply Chain Logistics/Procurement, Paralegal/Legal Studies

Hourly Rate:

 

$25.00 - $27.00

 

The hourly rate listed is the rate we anticipate paying for this position. If a range is listed, the actual hourly rate offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's degree type, academic major, and/or school classification (e.g., sophomore, junior, senior).
